Helen Woznack joined Ridgewood Crew in 2009 as their Head Coach and Men's JV & Varsity squad coach. After only one year with RC, she has really enjoyed working with the team and hopes to stay on board for many years to come. Prior to coaching for Ridgewood, she began as assistant for the Varsity program at Don Bosco Prep HS in Ramsey, NJ. During her time with DBP, she successfully organized a club sponsored fall program for the Bosco rowers from the ground up. She would also go on to become the squad coach for the JV/Varsity sculling team there before leaving to pursue other interests. Her mission as head coach is to keep the RC program growing while helping each squad achieve their utmost potential. Helen is USRowing Level 2 coaching certified and has attended the Joy of Sculling conference the past 3 years. Still an active competitive rower herself, she holds 2 gold and 2 bronze medals from the 2009 US Rowing Master's National Championships, as well as 2 gold medals from Canadian Henley in 2006 & 2008. Becky LoBello, Coach, JV/Varsity Women
Becky LoBello began rowing at St. Mary’'s College in Southern Maryland. She began her coaching career as the Men’s Team Head Coach her junior year and continued through her senior year. After college, Becky took some time off from rowing to pursue her doctorate degree in Chemistry at Penn State University, which she received in 2008. After moving to New Jersey, she joined the Passaic River Rowing Association and currently rows with the Masters Women’s Team. Becky joined the Ridgewood Crew in 2009 as a coach for the Boy’s Novice team and is looking forward to the JV/V Women's team this year. Contact Becky at CoachBex@gmail.com.
Patrick Larcom, Coach, Novice Men
Patrick Larcom began his coaching career in 2009 as the novice women's coach for Ridgewood Crew. In the past year he has further developed his rowing and coaching knowledge by attending Craftsbury Sculling and the Joy of Sculling coaches conference. Patrick began rowing as a freshman at the University of Vermont. He rowed and stroked in pairs, fours, and eights at the collegiate level during his time at UVM. His favorite regattas were the Head of the Charles, New England Championships, and Dad Vails. This past fall Patrick competed in the single, four, and eight with the Passaic River Rowing Association. Besides rowing Patrick is an avid athlete in many sports ranging from soccer to kiteboarding. He graduated from UVM with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and is currently pursuing a master's degree with Stevens Institute of Technology. Nick Emguschowa, Coach, Novice Women Nicholas Emguschowa began his rowing career during his freshman year of college as a member of the Lightweight Crew Team at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. He is an experienced coxswain who spent three years in the varsity boat. Throughout his career at Rutgers he consistently finished in the top 12 crews in the nation with signature cup wins that included both the WIT Cup and Durand Cup. For his final college race he helped lead his crew to a first place finish in the Petite Finals of the Men's 4+ at the IRA National Championship Regatta. Nicholas studied under several National Team coaches and continues to maintain strong ties to USRowing. In addition, he has had coaching experience with the Rutgers Men's Novice Crew Team. He is currently pursuing his MBA and is a coxswain for the Passaic River Rowing Association's Masters Program. Contact Nick at nickemg@gmail.com.
